Community

12/18/21 — A little dirt never hurt! Our Muff-a-Lottas participated in a community tree planting event with SOUL, a local organization on a mission to reforesting the New Orleans urban landscape.

In addition to dancing through the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras season, the Muff-a-Lottas actively participate in various charity events and performances to benefit our community throughout the year. These include:

  • Performing in the annual Southern Decadence Parade to celebrate the LGBTQ community;

  • Volunteering to cheer on youth runners during the Girls on the Run fall and spring 5K celebration run;

  • Distributing water to participants of Running of the Bulls in support of Beth’s Friends Forever and Big Easy Animal Rescue;

  • Participating as charity runners in the Crescent City Classic and collecting monetary donations for Covenant House;

  • Planting trees during community planting drives with SOUL New Orleans;

  • Collecting toys for children for the holidays in partnership with various organizations;

  • Performing during blood drive events with other dance krewes in support of the Blood Center;

  • Collecting socks and toiletries as well as visiting/performing for residents of assisted living centers;

  • and so much more!
