Membership Inquiries

As a Troupe, we value diversity and equality for all.In the spring, we invite new member applications from women of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and orientation. Any woman over the age of twenty-one is eligible to apply to be a Muff-a-Lotta. We are proud to include women from all over the world, including current and former members from Canada, France, Italy, and the Philippines.

We strive to represent the diversity of the city we celebrate and promote sisterhood among dance enthusiasts. Our season traditionally begins mid-summer and runs through the following spring. Ideal new member candidates:

• Find joy in dancing

• Enjoy sisterhood activities with a large group of women

• Have the financial resources to pay for annual membership dues and costume components

• Are available the majority of Tuesday evenings for our regularly-scheduled, mandatory practices in New Orleans

• Have flexible evening and weekend schedules for parades and special events

• Have the stamina to dance for up to three hours at a time (approximately six to twelve miles) during Carnival / Mardi Gras parades

• Have an easy-going attitude to embrace the dynamic nature of parades and special events in New Orleans
